Ambassadors hold a weekly yoga session. They work with children in Reception to teach them yoga poses. We go on lots of exciting yoga adventures whilst improving fitness and maintaining flexibility.
Barrow Ambassadors spoke confidently and clearly in an assembly to launch their Cool Cupcakes project. Children in years 5 and 6 decorated cupcakes with fresh fruit and icing, the cupcake sale raised £22.00 towards Friends of Hollingwood Parks.
All of the Ambassadors wrote letters of support for Friends of Hollingwood Parks. They used persuasive language to encourage the council to put funding towards a new park in Hollingwood.
Ambassadors regularly hold book swap shops for children to swap a book from home with one of ours. Children pay 20p to swap books and all money raised goes towards Friends of Hollingwood Parks.
We visited Treasures Nursery as a random act of kindness in the community, the Ambassadors helped out with crafts, snack time and singing. The staff at the Nursery were really impressed with how kind and caring the Ambassadors were.
Stephenson Ambassadors made beautiful banana bread and fabulous flapjack to sell to children in years 3 and 4. The sale raised £20 to go towards Friends of Hollingwood Parks.
We continued spreading Christmas cheer by going out and about in our community handing out mince pies. Everyone thought our random acts of kindness were fantastic.
Members of Friends of Hollingwood Parks came into school to make mince pies with the Ambassadors. The mince pies were distributed at our Community Carol Service.
A long term Ambassador project is to care for our boat garden on the canal. Members of the community support us with looking after the boat garden. In the photos you can see us planting daffodil bulbs.
Ambassadors were involved in random acts of kindness at Staveley Market Square. We spread Christmas cheer by giving out mince pies to the community at the light switch on.
The Great Hollingwood Bake Off was a Christmas competition between the four Houses, each team made a mince pie with a twist. Scary Berry and Paul Hollingwood paid us a visit to judge the competition. Ethan and Lucy announced that Markham House were the winners. The mince pies were scrumptious and there was not a soggy bottom in sight!
Cavendish Ambassadors made super smoothies to sell to children in Nursery. The team experimented with fruit to make two delicious smoothie flavours which tasted delicious.
Markham Ambassadors launched their first community fund raising project. The team investigated which fruits were seasonal and found ways to prevent fruit going brown in the pot. In the photo you can see Markham Ambassadors practising to speak about Fruity Friday in a whole school assembly. Fruit pots were sold to children in Key Stage 1, they tasted delicious and were the perferct healthy snack. All proceeds raised are for Friends of Hollingwood Parks.
