Homework this term is going to be a variety of maths, grammar and reading in preparation for the year 6 SATs test in May. The homework the children will be given will be topics we have looked at in the previous week.
All children should bring their reading book home every night. Please support your child with their reading each night and ensure their book is brought back into school each day. Please sign in the Reading section and state which page your child has read up to.
Your child has a copy of the Year 5 and 6 recommended spellings in their Homework Diary. We refer to these as 'Orange Words.' Please ensure your child learns these and practises them regularly. Your child will also be given a list of 10 words to learn from each spelling unit that they are currently learning. These spellings will focus on a particular spelling rule or pattern.
In R2L, we are learning about the book 'holes'. To show what they have learned and understood about the story so far, including thoughts and feelings the children will choose one activity per week to complete. This can be presented in anyway that they choose but should be neat and carefully thought out.
