We have been counting in multiples of 6, 7, 9, 25 and 100 to complete sequences of numbers. We have also been solving word problems which have required us to count in multiples. We have also been using our knowledge of place value to create numbers which fit a specific criteria using a set of given digits e.g make a number between 1254 and 1263 using the digits 1 5 8 2.
We have been learning about the value of each digit in numbers and partitioned numbers to show the value of each digit.
Addition and Subtraction
We have been adding and subtracting numbers mentally using different stratagies. We have also been using compact column written method for addition and subtraction with larger numbers.
Multiplication and Division
During the term we have been using our knowledge of times tables facts and the associated division acts to help us work out mental calculations involving multiplication and division.
We have been using the grid method and the expanded column method to calculate 3 digit and 4 digit numbers multiplied by a 1 digit number.
