‚ÄčHomework at Hollingwood

Children in Lower Keystage 2 (Year 3 and 4) are given a 'homework menu' each half term. This menu has a variety of different activities for the children to complete at home with their families.
This means that children are able to produce work that is most interesting for them.
Children have been given a homework book in which they can complete and present their work.

All children in Delhi Class have chosen their own reading book which they are encouraged to read at home.

When they have finished their books, they should change them in a morning. Please could parents sign reading diaries when children have read at home.

As a class, we are studying The Firework Maker's Daughter by Phillip Pullman in our Reading to Learn lessons. Please ask your child about this, as we have done lots of fantastic work on this novel.

As we are working as a whole class, we listen to the children read individually as regularly as we can.

Mrs Markham and I assessed the children just prior to the Easter holidays and many children have now moved up a book band - well done Delhi Class!

Children have also been put into their spelling groups. They will receive spellings regularly (usually weekly). They are asked to practice these and learn them at home.
